Connection/firewall errors

When trying to run the Play89™ software, I got prompted to check my internet connection and firewall settings. What should I do?

If your computer is behind a firewall and/or anti-virus software, it might block our program from connecting to the game servers. Thus, it has to be disabled - just right click on the appropriate icon, which is located in the left bottom corner (beside the clock), and select Disable or Exit. You also need to verify that the clock is synchronized with your local time zone.

If you insist on leaving the firewall on, you will need to open ports 6100-6112. Here are the instructions:

    1. Go to Start - (Settings -) Control Panel.
    2. Click on Windows Firewall (you might need to click on Windows Security Center to find it first).
    3. Click the Exceptions tab. Upon doing that, click Add port…
    4. A new window with two empty ports will open. Name the server, in Port enter 6100 and finally, mark TCP.
    5. Do the same for ports 6101-6112 as well.

Also, what you need to ensure is that your Windows account privileges allow you to install software. Please also try this:

    1. In Control Panel, choose User Accounts*.
    2. Create an account by clicking on Add… and name it.
    3. Click Other and make it an admin account.
    4. Restart your computer and log into the account you have just created.
    5. Now try installing the Play89™ software again.

*If you are not permitted to use the User Accounts feature, please contact your system administrator for a solution.
